Abstractions + Hallucinations is a joint exhibition by artists Jari Hepokorpi and Luca Delgado at Kaapelitehdas. The exhibition leads the viewer by his own growth experiences and the mystery of life.
The exhibition is free of charge. To the public, Abstractions + Hallucinations is open 27/11/2017 – 31/1/2018 from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 16:00 or by appointment.

Abstractions + Hallucinations is held in the office of Helsinki Capital Partners, which has functioned as an exhibition space for artists who collaborate with HCP since 2011. Abstractions + Hallucinations is the fourth exhibition that naturally combines two uses of this space: an office and an art gallery that inspires workers.
Over 200 visitors enjoyed the combination of art, DJ music, and a relaxed atmosphere at the opening on Friday, November 24th. “People enjoy themselves. They say that the way we do things is not yet typical in Finland, it’s something more international,” said Elias Koski from the Artists partner group at HCP after the opening.
The art exhibition is hosted by #HCPSPIRIT and Esterhazy Wein from Austria, a company that has a centuries-long tradition of supporting art in Central Europe. What these two companies have in common is international B Corporation activity. It’s not enough for B Corps to strive to be the best in the world – they also want to be best for the world.
Jari Hepokorpi
Jari Hepokorpi (b. 1981) has been painting for 20 years. Abstractions + Hallucinations is his eighth exhibition.
Hepokorpi’s abstract expression has a clear ideological basis: he strives to create a frame for each viewer’s individual, pure sensory experience by his work. He thinks that representational visual expression, the world of concepts, norms, rules, and values create predesigned and pre-experienced experiences. Therefore, Hepokorpi’s mission is to portray the world under the surface layer of our reality, at the core of the world of emotions.
”The black-and-white self-portraits were almost painful experiences to me, and they reflect great changes and challenges in life, but hopefully also growth and maturation,” says Hepokorpi.
Luca Delgado
Luca Delgado’s (b. 1991) art is visionary. This genre of visual art has also been described as psychedelic, and its imagery and colour scale has been understood to refer to hallucinations. Through this association, the aesthetics of visionary art has become a kind of common symbol of underground or counterculture. Delgado’s colour palettes convey a feeling of going beyond our everyday reality.
Delgado says that he paints his memories and dreams, which gain the shape of recycled images in his painting process. “The mystery of life and the eternal question of where we come from fascinate me endlessly,” Delgado explains his inspiration.
Luca Delgado’s art has been on display in several individual and group exhibitions, especially since 2012. He also makes art installations.

I think that collaboration with HCP is, of course, a great opportunity, but I also have to say that working has been very comfortable. They know how to and clearly want to work on the artist’s terms, or at least in a way that suits me – promoting what is good in the world and not purely commercial interests.Jari Hepokorpi
HCP’s collaboration with artists meets the company’s value proposition
During its ten years of operation, Helsinki Capital Partners has been an active partner and promoted the career of dozens of artists. During the years, the company’s cultural collaboration has been crystallised into #HCPSPIRIT. This hashtag tells stories of HCP’s activities in the community.
HCP’s value proposition is asset management to be proud of ™. “A healthier financial sector, better financial services, and support for individuals – these are the things that we believe in and work for in addition to our core business,” says HCP CEO Tommi Kemppainen.
“As regards individuals, we are particularly interested in talented people in the early stages of their careers who have a vision and whose potential we recognise. The length of our collaboration with artists and athletes can be anything from enabling a one-time project to long-time partnership. When all parties recognise the meaningfulness of collaboration, we put it into effect,” says Kemppainen.
“I think that collaboration with HCP is, of course, a great opportunity, but I also have to say that working has been very comfortable. They know how to and clearly want to work on the artist’s terms, or at least in a way that suits me – promoting what is good in the world and not purely commercial interests,” Jari Hepokorpi says.
