Everything went fast – super fast. I had never been to these kinds of environments before, and all of a sudden, I was in the very center of it playing for all those people.
It was like five years ago when I started DJ’ing. I was 20 or 21. I had some friends who liked electronic music and they took me to a techno party, where I heard the music for the first time. It seemed like fun and I thought if I could do this myself. So, I borrowed the CDJ’s and just played and played at my mom’s place for a week.
All of a sudden I got my first gig just because I had told someone that I’ve been playing a little. It was a pretty big venue for a first timer. I was so scared, but it went alright.
Well, two weeks after my first gig I had a residency at Aftermath that is one of the most famous underground clubs in Stockholm. I played there two times a week for three months. That was how I learned to play. I learned while I was playing.
The best thing about being a DJ is to travel and meet people who share the same interests as you and have the same passion for music. I like pretty much everything about what I’m doing. Otherwise, I wouldn’t do it.
